Yeah, i think Sidux might be a contender in the new future. I am going to install Arch at work later this week to see what all the fuss it about. I was just playing around with PCLOS 2008 today.

Thanks for the kind comments, I'm glad you like the reviews. I have got Sidux on my hit list actually and I know a lot of people who like it. I'll be sure to check it out :)

Hi Dan

I'd love to read your review on arch linux. It seems like a lot of configuring to me but maybe it's worth it.

I have made some research on that distro and on the forums people say pacman is faster than apt-get on debian, which would be blazingly fast ;)

Oh, i don't believe you've already tried sidux yet, have you? Well you should! ;) Because it is a bleeding edge distro with a rolling release, actually taking the right packages out of debian sid without compromising your system.

The developers are doing a very good job trying to make sid "safe" and easy to handle with some very handy scripts like smxi, the swiss knife of all scripts!

You'll certainly have an influence on my decision on (not) installing arch linux next to my sidux
partition on my laptop.

Greetings,

manonfire4

I did know about those releases but thanks for reminding me, I've got a lot to get through it seems. I've also been keeping an eye on Dream Linux and I want to try the new 3.0 release when I get the chance.

I'll get cracking after Easter :)

You probably already know this but Ubuntu 8.04 beta has arrived! PCLinuxOS 2008 is also available in the minime format. OpenSuse 11 is now in late Alpha. Just sayin'.
