Good day one and all. I decided I’d start a new series this week. I’m always involved in a lot of events around Liverpool as some of you may know. Often people tell me they don’t know about these things until afterwards, or they found out when it was too late. So in keeping with a football-style “upcoming fixtures” idea I thought I’d start posting where you can expect to see me each week. A fixture list if you like. I’ve thought about how far I can stretch this football metaphor but no matter how hard I try I just can’t seem to work in a mention of the “pool’s panel verdict”. Suggestions on a postcard.
<CANCELLED 13/11/2012> — Wednesday November 14th @ 4:30pm UK – Live FLOSS Weekly. This week I’ll be joining Randal Schwartz to interview the people behind another great Open Source project. This week it’s Pootle. Taping is streamed live via – http://live.twit.tvSorry folks FLOSS has been cancelled this week due to the guest pulling out.
Wednesday November 14th @ 8:30pm – Solo acoustic gig, The Clove Hitch, Hope St, Liverpool. My good friends at Vizea Sound are running their open mic night on Wednesdays in the basement of the Clove Hitch. It’s a nice intimate venue apparently but this will be my first time there this week. It’s free to get in, just come along and say hi.
Thursday November 15th @ 9am-5pm – It’s Jelly Liverpool again this Thursday. I’ll be there all day upstairs in the lovely LEAF tea shop on Bold St, Liverpool. It’s an informal co-working day for freelancers of all types. We have free WiFi and also complimentary tea/coffee/whatever’s you poison on hand. If you’re a freelancer in Liverpool or nearby and you’ve never been to Jelly you’re missing out. Come and join us.
Thursday November 15th @ 5pm-8pm – Sound City Kin networking event, LEAF, Bold St. I’ll be staying at LEAF after Jelly for the Kin social event by Liverpool Vision. A chance to meet creative folks in the city, in conjunction with the folks behind the Sound City festival. I can’t find a link for this event strangely but last month’s one is listed on the Kin website if you want to get an idea.
I think that’s about it for now but there’s bound to be something I’ve forgotten. If you’re in Liverpool, or near enough to make the trip, then come and say hello in person. Otherwise there’s no excuse for missing some of the free live streaming shows from anywhere in the world. Ok, so maybe there are some excuses, but I’m not accepting them! La la la, I can’t hear you
Hope to see some of you soon, take care,
